Fountain Hills was laid out as a planned community, and that planning shows in how the town is organized: neighborhoods wrapped around golf courses, streets that curve to preserve mountain sightlines, and a central park built around the fountain the town is named for. Arizona’s four-season but hot-summer climate shapes material and design choices here as much as the floor plan does. Deep overhangs and covered outdoor rooms keep west-facing glass and mountain-view windows livable through summer afternoons, while stone, steel, and board-formed concrete hold up to sustained UV exposure far better than materials borrowed from a milder market. Getting drainage and grading right before the first wall goes up matters just as much heading into monsoon season as it does anywhere else we build.
